• The 1 Thing EVERY Gift Needs

I have been thinking a lot lately about gifts. What can I get this person for their special day?I go crazy trying to come up with what I think they would like and what would be the perfect gift.  Do you ever go through this routine? Racking your brain trying to come up with the perfect gift? You might go days or even weeks trying to come up with something, scrolling Pinterest or Etsy and still….you got nothing! But you gotta get something. If you don’t, it’s like you don’t love that person and your gift won’t reflect how you really feel. So what does every gift NEED? I found this out as I…

  • Teri’s Master Bedroom Makeover

I think we can agree on one thing: it’s easy to shut your bedroom door and hide the mess so that others don’t have to see what’s behind door #2.  But with a few simple changes, even using things you have at home, your bedroom can become one of your favorite spaces.  This space is Teri’s master bedroom, and she had been wanting to update it for a while, so one day we just decided LET’S DO THIS!  Things she wanted for her updated bedroom: 1) something for over the headboard 2) a new rug 3) new bedding 4) curtains 5) anything else we could find that would look good…

  • 2018 One Goal at a Time

Well, it’s the New Year 2018! Time for resolutions, goals, all those things we are supposed to do yada, yada, yada! Heard it all before!Let’s get real. It’s January 5th already and sure, I want to set some goals and get organized, but realistically, I do this every year and honestly, I never achieve it.   So this year, I’ve decided to do things differently than I have in the past. Instead of getting a big list of goals together starting with losing 20 pounds, going to the gym every day, eating better, etc. (sound familiar?) I decided to try this little formula instead. 1. Work on one goal at a…

  • Decor We FALL For

We styled a bar cart for Fall, using gold, greenery, and deep blue designs. Check out our Instagram post about it! The temperatures are dropping, the leaves are falling, and our homes are changing once again! We love Autumn/Fall and everything about the weather, hot chocolate, and interior design plans. There’s something refreshing about putting away the skeletons and cobwebs and bringing out the leaves, signs, and warmer colors. Photo from Poor Little It Girl Blog Here are some fun Fall favorites that work from October to November (before those Christmas decorations hit!)—hope you love them as much as we do! • Farmhouse Doors DIY Project

I’ve always loved the farmhouse look after seeing all the beautiful pictures on Pinterest. I knew I wanted a pair of sliding barn doors somewhere in my house, so this archway was calling for a set of them. It’s a 9-foot archway, so finding doors was going to be a problem. But then I thought, “Why can’t we just make the doors ourselves?” And by “ourselves,” I mean I would turn to my handyman son-in-law, Jonathan. In May of this year, Jonathan made these custom barn doors for our master bedroom and I love the way they turned out! This project took a few days to finish. The cost was less…

  • Birthday Party DIY: Ribboned Lanterns

I love to decorate and I LOVE my granddaughter, so when they were in town for her 1st birthday, I knew I would be doing some birthday decorating! One of the staples that I keep on hand at all times are lanterns. I usually have many colors, shapes and sizes in my storage area (aka my garage). I like to save them all because they are so easy to decorate with and they really make a statement for any party. They add color, pizzaz, and that “wow” factor that I love when decorating. Decor from Teri’s daughter’s reception I like to add ribbons or torn pieces of colored material to…

  • A Coastal + Fresh Summer Patio

Our Styling Tip: We choose flowers that contrast the pillow designsto add a pop of color! Our favorite summer flowers are brightwhites, pinks, and yellows. We also love using brightly colored fruit!  We wanted to restyle Teri’s patio for the summer months so her family could enjoy it! She already had the wicker and wood furniture, so we brought in pillows, a rug, fresh flowers, a vintage tray and glasses, linen napkins, and of course some lemons, because it’s not summer without lemons! We also added some plants, and we styled it about a billion times!  We just love how it turned out. We love styling spaces like this because…

  • Our First Blog Post!

July 2017 at our family reunion! We always knew Wool + Vine would one day have a blog, but it’s been amazing to finally launch and have another place to share our thoughts, along with some of our DIY projects. This will also be a place to share photos and stories and a behind-the-scenes look at our styling techniques. Teri’s entryway to her cottage home in Southern California! This is one of ourfavorite spots to style because of thenatural lighting.  We love home decor and design! We are excited to share something we love so much. And let’s face it, we all want beautiful homes, but we know that there’s…
