• A $10 Yard Sale Tray Turned Into Something Spectacular!

I have been going to yard sales, estate sales and thrift shops for years and I love what I can find for my home on a budget! I love vintage items and have a mix of them in my home. I have many vintage collections to include, Christmas ornaments, cameras, handbags, baskets, Santa cups, Pyrex, old books, toys, and milkglass just to name a few! A few years ago I found a round metal tray at a yard sale for $10. This tray has 5 sections to it and I have used it at Christmastime to put vintage ornaments in and other Christmas things. But for the most part, it…

  • And Then the Unthinkable Happened . . .

First off, this is not my usual blog post because it has nothing to do with home decor or interior design. But don’t leave!! In 2020, COVID-19 took over and we began a new way of life. All of the things we had planned, like vacations, graduations, and weddings would soon be thrown out the window because of this pandemic. Many people lost their lives, and I don’t think we really grasped the severity of what was to come in 2020. Normal day-to-day things like eating out, visiting our kids and grandkids, and of course wearing the face mask were all things we had to get use to in 2020.…

Fall is in the air, and we are getting our homes ready for all things pumpkin and spice! Hoping the weather in SoCal cooperates soon—it would be nice to be able to pull out those sweaters! How about a good Mantel Refresh? We all love to decorate our homes with the new season that is rolling in. That is the fun part of home decor. • Halloween Haunted Home Decor EASY Tricks and Tips!

When October comes around and you see the bats, witches, and spider webs, do you want to skip right ahead to Christmas?  I have to admit I was one of those people. I really struggled to decorate for Halloween when my kids were little. I think it was because I really didn’t like the color orange and just did not know how to make it work in my house.  I have a lot of fun with it now mostly because I realize I just don’t have to use the color orange and I know I can pull neutral colors into my decor.   Here are some fun ideas to spice up…

  • Backyard Summer Makeover

We are hosting the Outdoor Summer Tour, and we’re sharing our outdoor makeover! If you’re coming from Sarah Sofia Productions, Welcome! We loved how Sarah transformed her deck with those gorgeous pops of blue!  It’s SUMMER time! And I think most of us can agree that when the weather hits the high 90s and 100s, we want to run inside and crank that A/C.  But what about those summer nights, when the sun sets and you want a place to relax? That’s where this BACKYARD SUMMER MAKEOVER came into play. I have a small yard and have tried to make this space a welcoming and comfortable one for times when we are barbecuing, book…

  • One-Day Makeover

With three cans of paint and three hours of work, my living room entertainment center looks like an entirely new piece!!  Of course I can’t take the credit—my son-in-law painted it this past weekend when he and my daughter came to visit. My husband and daughter also helped paint, and I did a little too. It was a whole family affair! Take a look at the BEFORE picture of our TV center: It wasn’t horrible, but the brown polished wood definitely stood out in my lighter, brighter room. I had been wanting a change for so long, and my son-in-law is such a go-getter that this project was done in…
