• Mother’s Day and Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day How will you celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday? It will look different for everyone as we all are in a different situation this year with COVID19. It’s a very different world from the world it once was three months ago. We may all be wearing masks on Sunday but it is Mother’s Day so let’s celebrate all of the mothers in our lives whether they be near or far. They deserve our thanks and love on Sunday and every day. My Mom I am lucky because my mom is still living and resides in a home very close to me. I can drive to her house in about…

  • Good Housekeeping Feature!

I could not let April slip by without thanking Good Housekeeping for our Feature in the Good Stuff this month. What a thrill it was to open and see our picture on the pages of this publication! I may or may not have gone out and bought a few issues for every room in my home but who’s to say? The feature is located on the third page and it’s called The Good Stuff. It’s a DIY simple floral arrangement of tulips placed in thrifted milk glass vases. I have been collecting milk glass for years. I find milk glass from various places such as yard sales, thrift shops and…

  • Baking a 3-Tier Cake!

My youngest daughter turned 21 this past month, and you know what that means . . . CAKE! I have the recipe down below if you want to try it out! SO EASY! I found this Funfetti Cake recipe on Pinterest, but I was worried! I’ve only made a multi-level cake once before. I’m more of the 9×13 cake person. I love Cake by Courtney and the cake decorators who make AMAZING creations! Check out this STOP-MOTION animation of my process! It took about 3 hours to make the whole cake, from start to finish! That’s including cooling, but I also only had ONE baking pan to work with. This…

  • Showing My Easter Table + Fun Family Traditions

When my kids were little we would hide plastic eggs in our backyard and let them go hunt for the prize inside, which was normally candy of some sort. One year we put chocolate inside and soon realized that the sun had melted the chocolate. Lesson learned. Another fun thing we would do was dye eggs and then we had fun decorating them. We would dip an egg halfway in one color for a few minutes, then turn the egg over and dip the other half in another color. The kids thought that was cool! We would use crayons, glitter, stickers, and just have so much fun with all of…

  • Baby Nursery Room Reveal!

I’ve been working on something fun for a few months now, and we can finally reveal it! My oldest daughter is pregnant with her first baby due in November!! I’m a grandma to two beautiful girls from my son and daughter-in-law, so when I found out my daughter was pregnant after she had been trying for a while I was SO HAPPY. And of course I immediately dreamt up some plans for the baby’s room. Here’s our “vision board” my daughter and I put together before the room began! I partnered with some AMAZING businesses and brands to pull this room together, working with my daughter’s vision, of course. She…

  • Sweet Dreams with Emma Mattress

SLEEP IS NOT OVERRATED!Many people don’t know this, but I have lived with back pain practically my whole life and it’s not fun. In fact, it is downright painful and can be very debilitating. I had to have back surgery about 13 years ago to remove a bulging disk. I had the surgery because I had no choice at the time—it affected me so much that I found myself not being able to walk because of this disk. Sometimes when I am lying down I have back pain. It’s just what I deal with. I know there are so many people that deal with back pain and the number is…
