(This post may contain sponsored or affiliate links. The links I’ve provided are for products that I’ve used and have in my home. There are also sponsored ads from a third-party network. When clicking on advertisements, they will be identified as paid advertisements) Spooky spiders, flying bats, scary skeletons…you get the picture! I decorated for Halloween early this year and it was so fun! I ordered a 6.5-foot spooky spider from Amazon and some bats too! The spider was less than $10 and the bats were $5. I love cheap seasonal decor, don’t you? The majority of my Halloween decor came from years past. I added simple pieces this year…

  • A $10 Yard Sale Tray Turned Into Something Spectacular!

I have been going to yard sales, estate sales and thrift shops for years and I love what I can find for my home on a budget! I love vintage items and have a mix of them in my home. I have many vintage collections to include, Christmas ornaments, cameras, handbags, baskets, Santa cups, Pyrex, old books, toys, and milkglass just to name a few! A few years ago I found a round metal tray at a yard sale for $10. This tray has 5 sections to it and I have used it at Christmastime to put vintage ornaments in and other Christmas things. But for the most part, it…

  • Not Your Typical Ceiling Fan

How do you know when it’s time to update your ceiling fans? I made a TikTok video asking this question and one of the responses was “when it stopped working.” When it stops working, you know it’s time! My husband and I knew it was time to update our ceiling fans because we’ve lived in our home over 15 years! These fans are OLD. First I want to tell you something about my husband, Darren. He has been working from home since March 2020 due to the pandemic. I thought I would die when that happened—him working in the house all day, wandering around and in my business occasionally. Anyone…

  • Revealing My DREAM Wall with DuraDecor

After peeling and sticking lots of DuraDecor vinyl planks to the wall, the bonus/media room is COMPLETE! It really is the dream accent wall I was hoping it would be, and I could not be happier with the final result! Here are the things that I did to update this space: Added DuraDecor Peel and Stick Vinyl in Iced Barn (available exclusively at The Home Depot ) Painted the walls Replaced the old shutters with blackout curtains Replaced the 15-year-old ceiling fan Added a new couch BEFORE PHOTOS FINAL REVEAL PHOTOS The hardest part was measuring the wall and planning it out beforehand. After that, it was so easy to…

  • Drab to FAB with DuraDecor

We have lived in our home for 15 years and there’s one room we have never changed. . . our bonus/media room. I’m talking never painted it or anything. It is still the original yellow color from when we moved into the home. Time for some changes! I am taking the wall in this room from drab to fab using Peel and Stick Vinyl Planks from DuraDecor! This room is mainly used by my husband, who spends time playing video games and watching his favorite TV shows. Occasionally, we will have family over to watch a movie. The Plan Here are the things that I plan to do to update…

  • And Then the Unthinkable Happened . . .

First off, this is not my usual blog post because it has nothing to do with home decor or interior design. But don’t leave!! In 2020, COVID-19 took over and we began a new way of life. All of the things we had planned, like vacations, graduations, and weddings would soon be thrown out the window because of this pandemic. Many people lost their lives, and I don’t think we really grasped the severity of what was to come in 2020. Normal day-to-day things like eating out, visiting our kids and grandkids, and of course wearing the face mask were all things we had to get use to in 2020.…

  • DIY Vintage Book Pumpkins

Make Fall pumpkins out of ordinary books or vintage books…..OH YES YOU CAN!!! HERE’S HOW TO DO IT! Start by finding a book that you don’t use or want. It doesn’t matter what it looks like because you are going to take the cover off and only use the inside pages of the book. Cut off right top pages of book to form shape of pumpkin. Note: you will only be able to cut several pages at a time with scissors. Then do the same thing to the bottom right side pages of book doing several pages at a time. Keep this up until all pages have been cut and…
