• And Then the Unthinkable Happened . . .

First off, this is not my usual blog post because it has nothing to do with home decor or interior design. But don’t leave!! In 2020, COVID-19 took over and we began a new way of life. All of the things we had planned, like vacations, graduations, and weddings would soon be thrown out the window because of this pandemic. Many people lost their lives, and I don’t think we really grasped the severity of what was to come in 2020. Normal day-to-day things like eating out, visiting our kids and grandkids, and of course wearing the face mask were all things we had to get use to in 2020.…

  • OREO HALLOWEEN JARS: FUN FALL IDEAS

I got to team up with my daughter Jenna over at @jonathanandjenna for a fun Halloween idea with OREOS! Here is an easy and fun idea you can do at home with your kids and if your kids like cookies, then they are going to LOVE this one! It’s just stacking in a jar, one on top of the next. Sound easy? Let’s get started! I used Oreo Cookies but you can use whatever you like! Candy or anything you have on hand. Just be creative. I also had this jar in my home. This same jar can be found at Walmart for $8.97. Any jar with a wide base…

  • DIY Vintage Book Pumpkins

Make Fall pumpkins out of ordinary books or vintage books…..OH YES YOU CAN!!! HERE’S HOW TO DO IT! Start by finding a book that you don’t use or want. It doesn’t matter what it looks like because you are going to take the cover off and only use the inside pages of the book. Cut off right top pages of book to form shape of pumpkin. Note: you will only be able to cut several pages at a time with scissors. Then do the same thing to the bottom right side pages of book doing several pages at a time. Keep this up until all pages have been cut and…

  • Pantry Makeover

My pantry has been in need of a reorganization for a while. Let’s just say it has been a hot mess for way too long now. My daughter was with us this past week and she decided to work on our pantry! Score!! We sat down together and worked on a plan for things that I needed for the pantry such as new containers, baskets, and other bins that we would need for good organization. She got on the computer and found some good options on Amazon and they arrived in just a few days! I can’t believe we are actually going to get this pantry done! So the next…

  • $5 Find Transformation! with Rust-Oleum

I’m at it again with another Rust-Oleum makeover! This time, it’s with a yard sale find from a few weeks ago. I’m finally posting everything and getting caught up! I found this wire basket thing at a yard sale and knew I could do something with it, but I wasn’t sure exactly what. It’s a pretty long piece. At first, I thought about hanging it on a wall to organize plants. Then, I thought about turning it into a laundry organizer. I had so many ideas rolling around in my head! And then I thought about turning it into table. My daughter suggested using hairpin legs for the table! What’s…

  • Rust-Oleum Bicycle Makeover!

As Haven conference is coming up, I’ve been SO busy with fun projects! One of them is a Rust-Oleum spray paint challenge. The spray paint challenge is to transform and refresh a furniture or decor piece! Here is my transformation: We’ve had this bike for years (got it from my niece), and we used to ride it around! But then it sat on the side of the house. And it sat. And it sat. Until FINALLY I decided to transform it. I used Rust-Oleum’s 2020 Coral color because it popped and reminded me of summer! I love this 2020 color line and could’ve gone with any of the choices honestly.…

  • Hyped up for HAVEN Conference!

In a few weeks, I’ll be attending my first HAVEN CONFERENCE! Originally, I was meant to fly to Atlanta, Georgia, and meet up with home decor enthusiasts and influencers, but now we get the chance to meet virtually and learn together! I’m actually excited to learn from the comfort of my home. I get to stay safe and still learn at this conference! This year the conference will be handled by ZOOM. The Haven administrators have been so amazing to offer ZOOM help to those who need it. They have been performing ZOOM practice calls periodically throughout the past few weeks for people to participate in and it has been…

  • Mother’s Day and Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day How will you celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday? It will look different for everyone as we all are in a different situation this year with COVID19. It’s a very different world from the world it once was three months ago. We may all be wearing masks on Sunday but it is Mother’s Day so let’s celebrate all of the mothers in our lives whether they be near or far. They deserve our thanks and love on Sunday and every day. My Mom I am lucky because my mom is still living and resides in a home very close to me. I can drive to her house in about…

  • Good Housekeeping Feature!

I could not let April slip by without thanking Good Housekeeping for our Feature in the Good Stuff this month. What a thrill it was to open and see our picture on the pages of this publication! I may or may not have gone out and bought a few issues for every room in my home but who’s to say? The feature is located on the third page and it’s called The Good Stuff. It’s a DIY simple floral arrangement of tulips placed in thrifted milk glass vases. I have been collecting milk glass for years. I find milk glass from various places such as yard sales, thrift shops and…

  • Baking a 3-Tier Cake!

My youngest daughter turned 21 this past month, and you know what that means . . . CAKE! I have the recipe down below if you want to try it out! SO EASY! I found this Funfetti Cake recipe on Pinterest, but I was worried! I’ve only made a multi-level cake once before. I’m more of the 9×13 cake person. I love Cake by Courtney and the cake decorators who make AMAZING creations! Check out this STOP-MOTION animation of my process! It took about 3 hours to make the whole cake, from start to finish! That’s including cooling, but I also only had ONE baking pan to work with. This…
